Disability, Employment, and Public Policies​ Initiative (DEPPI)

All activities

One of DEPPI main goal is to actively mobilize research knowledge from researchers and non-academic partners to determine the most relevant policy recommendations given the evidence gathered. Regular dissemination of knowledge with our Partners will provide persons with disabilities, firms, and local organizations direct access to the knowledge generated by the Partnership.

Mr. Glover is an assistant professor in the INSEAD’s Economics Department in Paris.

 

He graduated in Economics from Sciences Po in 2017.

Mr. Glover’s research interests include labour economics, discrimination in employment, inequality and redistribution of wealth. His recent work has been published in the Quarterly Journal of Economics and the London School of Economics Business Review.

Marion Goussé presented the results of the study on hiring discrimination against people with physical limitations. This study, conducted by Charles Bellemare, Marion Goussé, Guy Lacroix and Steeve Marchand, shows that mentioning a physical disability on a job application halves the chances of being called to a job interview.

As part of a capacity-building workshop for applicants for the Collaborative Housing Research Network Partnership Development Grants, Charles Bellemare discussed the challenges of managing partnerships. He has presented, among other things, the different dimensions of the DEPPI partnership and the best practices leading to the commitment of the partners.

On 21 February 2019, the DEPPI presented a workshop on discrimination and the labour market during the event QUARIERA 2019, presented by AXTRA. During this workshop, Charles Bellemare discussed the work of the DEPPI, the testing method, implicit association test and the relation between prejudices and worker productivity.
